These terms and conditions relate to Elizabeth James, our customers and website visitors. Images and content on this site must not be reproduced without express permission. By using this website, you are agreeing to the Terms and Conditions set below.
Elizabeth James reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time without notice to you. Please check the Terms and Conditions periodically to see whether a change has been made to them.
We take your privacy very seriously and understand that you deserve to know how we will use the information we collect from you.
You understand when you register with the website or make an order, you will be asked to provide us with certain information including that of a personal nature for personalised items, gift tagging, etc.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, you consent to the processing of your personal data (in manual, electronic or any other form) relevant to this agreement by us, bound by a duty of confidentiality. Elizabeth James NEVER sells or passes any personal details on to any third party not related to your purchase.

3. Returns: Unwanted Items
If you would like to exercise your right of returns of the product under the provisions of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, it states you must inform Elizabeth James about your intention with the reason of cancellation in writing within the period of 14 days from the delivery of the product. This is known as a "Cooling Off Period". (This is not the case when returning faulty items; see point 4 below.) Plesae contact us if you are returning an item. You are responsible for all return postage costs.
You are strongly advised to ask the post office for proof of postage or you may choose to purchase Recorded Delivery. We cannot issue refunds until the goods are received safely. This right is not applicable in case of personalised products, flowers, foods, earrings or bath products as they cannot be resold or for reasons of hygiene. These are only returnable in the case of faults.
Ensure you include your order number, name and address so that we can log the return of your item for your refund. Refunds are made via the same method of payment as your original order. Please note that if an item is returned that is as described and fit for purpose, then our policy is to refund the cost of the item but not the outward or return postage.

4. Returns: Faulty Items
Where you are concerned about a fault with your item, please contact us as soon as possible and within 7 days of receipt of the item. We can then discuss a way forward with you. If we agree that Elizabeth James is at fault, we will refund or replace your item. You may be asked to return the faulty goods and include a postage receipt if you wish a refund of the return postage. This will be at the rate of Royal Mail Second class or lower and you are strongly advised to ask the post office for proof of postage or you may choose to purchase Recorded Delivery. We cannot issue refunds until the goods are received safely.
We would be very disappointed to find fault with any of our products and so will do our utmost to help in these circumstances.
5. Third Party Web Sites, Goods and Services
Elizabeth James may provide links to third party websites that are not affiliated with Elizabeth James. We make no representations as to the quality, suitability, functionality or legality of any sites to which we may provide links or any goods or services available from such sites.
All matters concerning any goods and services that you purchase from a third party site, including without limitation all contract terms are solely between you and the owner of that site and Elizabeth James will not be liable for any costs or damages to you or any third party arising directly or indirectly out of any third party website. You hereby waive any claim you might have against Elizabeth James with respect to any such sites. However if you have experienced problems please let us know so that we can investigate whether to continue with said link.
6. Product Details
Elizabeth James tries to represent our products as realistically as possible but due to various reasons such as monitor colour settings, colour reproduction and the handcrafted nature of some products, some items may appear to differ slightly from the photographs shown. Elizabeth James and our suppliers have very high quality control standards and are confident you will love your purchase!
All prices are in GBP currently and are subject to change prior to your purchase at any time due to the fluctuations in the cost of materials, business costs and suppliers.
UK Postage and Packing is based on weight and size of the items you purchase. We generally dispatch items within 3 business days of receiving your order, although in rare cases if this is delayed we will contact you. You have a choice of delivery options when you place your order, which affects the amount of time following dispatch when your items will be delivered to you.
We do not currently ship outside the UK, but if you have interest in international deliveries, please contact us to discuss the possibility.
Elizabeth James uses PayPal for safe and secure transactions. This means that unless you purchase in our shop or via the telephone, we do not see or keep records of your card/account details. You do not have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal. Refunds are made via the same method of payment.
